Research and Advisory Work
Bringing rigorous research to real-world problems
Some of the most valuable work I do doesn't happen on a stage or in a workshop. It happens when an organisation is grappling with a specific question - about culture, about leadership, about why their values aren't translating into practice - and needs someone who can bring both research depth and hard-won practical experience to bear on it.

I work with organisations across healthcare, law, business, and academia to provide independent expertise that is grounded in evidence, honest about complexity, and useful from day one.

I am based in Nelson, New Zealand, and work internationally - in person where it makes sense, and remotely where it doesn't.
Project Work
Contracted research projects
If your organisation has a question worth investigating - about culture, kindness, leadership, or workforce wellbeing - I can help you design and lead research that generates findings you can actually use.
This might include literature reviews, qualitative research with your people or stakeholders, or independent analysis to inform a strategy or policy decision. I have particular depth in healthcare, though my research spans sectors. If you're not sure whether your question is researchable, that's often a good place to start a conversation.

Expert advisory roles

I work as an independent advisor for organisations that want evidence-informed input into decisions about culture, leadership, and workforce practice - through advisory board roles, expert panel membership, or consultative input into research or programme development.

Short-term consultancy

Sometimes what's needed is focused expertise for a specific purpose and timeframe - a culture diagnostic, an evidence review, or structured input into a change process. I'm comfortable working within defined scopes, and used to environments where the question itself needs refining before the work can begin.
